We’ve been developing a suite of AI apps designed to help technical writing teams build a practical AI strategy, grounded in how your team actually works.
Our first app tackled where should AI even be applied. But before you can answer that, you need a clear picture of your current workflow.
We’ve developed a workflow discovery app
This app guides Technical Authors and Documentation Managers through a structured conversation about their documentation process. As you answer each question, the app adapts its follow-up questions based on your responses. And as the interview progresses, it builds a workflow diagram in real time that reflects the specific stages of your project.
All the responses are stored in a database, and at the end of the session, the app generates a downloadable report describing the workflow in full. This report can act as a reference for understanding the team’s key activities and pinpointing where AI tools could add value.
Who is it for?
At the moment, we’re considering using the app during consultancy projects.
The app is best suited for teams who:
- Can’t arrange expert interviews within their available timeframe
- Want to carry out some initial self-discovery
A few honest limitations
We believe in being upfront about what our AI projects do, and don’t, do well. It can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking everything must use AI, when a simple form or a face-to-face conversation can work just as well, if not better.
A skilled consultant interviewing your team members will almost always surface richer insights than a structured app. That remains our preferred approach.
You could also achieve something similar with a general-purpose chatbot, though it wouldn’t store responses in a database or offer the same guided experience.
So we’re viewing this app as a option for some situations; structured, accessible, and available whenever it’s needed.
