This client provides power generation equipment and services, and it is looking to recruit a technical author/group leader to develop support documentation within its gas turbine business.

You will be responsible for creating and updating documentation relating to the building and commissioning of gas turbines. You'll also leading a team of technical writers, so they are also looking for someone who can manage and plan budgets, resources and the staff development of this international team. This also includes looking at ways to improve the documentation processes, tools, quality and cost-effectiveness.

You must have: experience within the chemical plant sector; a degree (or equivalent) in an engineering subject; at least 3 years technical writing experience.

Our client is a leader in providing software that enables large organisations to integrate information from different systems, such as Business Process Management and messaging.

In this role, you'll be part of the technical writing team, developing documentation for a variety of delivery formats.You will be developing end-user and technical documentation for the suite of Business Process Management software. This includes producing product manuals, Read Me files and release notes; working with the localisation teams.

You need to have: a qualification in technical writing or evidence of formal training; proven experience of writing documentation for software; good knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker. Ideally, you will also have: experience of technologies such as XML, XSLT, Java, UML, Web Services, MS SQL Server, Oracle, WebWorks and Eclipse; experience of structured authoring; experience of UI design and usability; experience of writing for localisation. Responsible to cover the requirements for Pilot Training Documentation and Training Equipment
Defining and producing of Training Equipment Specifications
Producing and processing of requests for information and quotations for Customers, sub-contractors and suppliers
Developing, defining and designing of customer-specific Pilot Training Documentation and Training Equipment, defining change requirements, assembly of work packages for internal or external production
Updating of existing Customer specific Pilot Training Documentation and Training Equipment, defining of change requirements, assembling of work packages for internal or external production
Carrying out quality control and initial acceptance of Pilot Training Documentation and Training Equipment
Defining and producing of storyboards for aircraft-specific Computer Based Training lessons
Reviewing, correcting, and accepting of Computer Based Training lessons
Carrying out of quality control and initial acceptance of Computer Based Training courseware
Supporting the Customer in technical discrepancy reporting and rectification
Project control related to technical, quality, financial and schedule issues

You need to:

Military pilot licence, preferably with instructor rating, simulation experience
Have at least 8 years experience in a military training environment; preferably experience in defining, supporting, and maintaining Pilot Training Documentation
Have sound knowledge of modern aircraft technologies and developments
Be prepared for working in a team, and for international travel
Have the ability to communicate fluently and write in English and ideally German. Additional qualifications in French or Spanish are most welcome.

Our client is looking for an experienced technical author to produce operation and procedural Data Modules and page blocks, as well as MIL-SPEC Specifications from engineering reports, drawings and manuals.

You'll be producing service bulletins, letters, field service instructions and other aircraft modification packages, as well as draft illustrations,schematic diagrams and illustration production packages. This will also involve organising and discussing maintenance procedures with the engineering departments.

You need to:

Have at least 5 years experience as a technical author writing aircraft mechanical technical documentation to ATA and S1000D specifications
Be able to produce electronic Technical Publications in SGML/XML, SGML
Be proficient in using MS Word and FrameMaker + SGML
Be experienced in the use of AECMA simplified English
