One of our partners has asked if we can help them find a contract API Documentation Writer to document a new payment gateway.
You’ll be writing API integration guides that will be used by small to medium sized businesses (a slightly less technical than a developer audience). Like many companies, they like the documentation style used by Stripe for its quick start guides and API documentation, and they would like their content to be of a similar standard and style.
The content may be translated in other languages in the future, so you need to write with this in mind.
You’ll be working closely with teams based in central-west London (NW1) and Dubai.
The teams have been providing the code samples so far. The project teams use Agile development methods, and you’ll be expected to attend the daily scrum meetings. This means you’ll be working mostly onsite in Marylebone, with the option of working from home for one day per week. The company encourages the London team members to visit their Dubai colleagues, so you have the opportunity to work onsite in Dubai in three day blocks.
Skills and experience
Ideally, you will have experience of:
- writing technical user guides for consumer-facing products similar to Stripe
- working in an Agile environment
- experience of working in the finance/fintech sector
As the sole Technical Author, you need to be self-motivated and self-managing.
Rate
The rate is to be finalised, but likely to be circa £45/hour.
Project duration
The project is for an initial two months, but this could be extended to circa 8 months.
