Our client is a software company in Cambridge that is developing a new database tool. It is looking for a Technical Author on a short term contract.
The work is to:
- Explain the concepts behind the tool
- Write Help topics on how to use the software
- Write microcopy text to guide the user inside the application

Getting started with JIRA Software
In fact, they use the Atlassian Confluence wiki platform as their authoring tool.
You’ll be working closely with the Product Manager and the product design team, which means you’ll need to work onsite.
Skills and experience
You need to be someone with the skills and experience of working closely and collaboratively with a product design team. Ideally, you will have an understanding of UX.
You also need to have experience of writing microcopy/UI text that will appear inside the software, and Help pages that will appear on their documentation website.
