A lot of policy and onboarding training still follows a familiar format: a presenter, some PowerPoint slides, and generic stock footage.

That format is straightforward to produce, but it can make important information harder for staff to follow. AI-assisted production gives learning teams access to motion graphics, tailored scenes, and interactive exercises, without needing a large animation team.

The video below demonstrates some of what’s possible:

## From policy to reviewed learning content

The workflow can be summarised as:

1. Policy
2. Script
3. Visuals
4. Scenarios
5. Review

Each stage has a different purpose. AI can help with the production work, but people remain responsible for the content and the decisions.

### Step 1: Define the policy

Start with an approved policy or procedure.

The source material needs to be current, complete, and clear about what people must do. If the policy contains gaps or contradictions, turning it into a polished video will only make those problems easier to distribute.

Choose the sections that determine what the learner needs to know or do. You do not need to cover every paragraph of the formal policy.

If the source material needs work, see [Turn scattered know-how into clear policies and procedures people actually follow](https://www.cherryleaf.com/documentation-services/policies-procedures-writing-services/)

### Step 2: Write the presenter’s script

Turn the selected material into a presenter script.

A policy defines rules and is designed to be read. A presenter script must explain those rules in language that sounds natural and gives the learner enough context.

AI can produce a first draft, shorten dense passages, and suggest a structure. A subject matter expert still needs to confirm that the script preserves the meaning of the approved source.

### Step 3: Add the visuals

Create a storyboard to identify where a visual explanation would help. This is where you can move beyond the bullet point slides used in so much online corporate training.

An animated diagram can explain a sequence or relationship. Dynamic text can draw attention to an important instruction. An abstract rule can be paired with a scene showing the correct action.

Workplace footage can also reflect the learner’s actual environment, clothing, and equipment.

The test is whether the visual makes the instruction clearer. Movement for its own sake soon becomes another distraction.

### Step 4: Add the scenarios

Turn important decisions into short exercises. You can [view an example of interactive exercises.](https://www.cherryleaf.com/wp-content/uploads/examples/rapid-response/index.html)

A policy tells people what they should do. A scenario gives them a situation and asks them to apply it.

Branching exercises can show the consequences of different choices and provide feedback based on the approved policy.

### Step 5: Review

Check the completed material against the approved source.

The review should cover factual accuracy, accessibility, privacy, consent and learning design. Reviewers also need to check whether generated people, places, and actions are appropriate for the organisation and its audience.

## Keep the tools that already work for you

AI can sit alongside tools such as Camtasia, PowerPoint (if still needed), and an LMS. It can help create scripts, storyboards, graphics, and draft scenarios. our existing tools can continue to handle editing, publishing and learner access.

Start with one short, stable policy and a clearly defined audience. Test the workflow, record where human review is needed and judge the result by whether learners can understand and apply the information.

AI removes some production barriers. It does not remove the need for someone to make the learning clear, accurate and useful.
