We create an AI automatic style checker this morning, and decided to see if Microsoft’s getting started user guide for Edge followed the Microsoft Manual of Style. Surprisingly, it did not.

Although you can use AI systems to check documents against a style guide, it’s often better to use a linter, such as Vale.

It was very easy and quick to create these types of application. We also created another app that corrected the issue identified with the document. The results weren’t perfect, and the app would need some refinement to used on a daily basis.

We’ve added information on how to create appls like this to our elearning course on using AI in technical writing.
