Notes
We use AI to carry out the research.
Indeed continues to place Cloudflare verification in front of automated searches, so these remain estimated from accessible search metadata rather than directly verifiable counts.
The large reduction from May to June was mainly due to removing duplicate Stepstone postings, rather than a genuine collapse in demand. The overall picture is that the market has flattened since May.
Using the same de-duplication rules as previous months:
| Month | Estimated UK vacancies |
| June 2026 | ≈4,500 |
| July 2026 | ≈4,420 |
This is likely to be an over-estimate, as there will be still duplicate job postings across different boards. The purpose of this survey is to assess the trend up or down. We assume the amount of duplication remains consistent across the months.
Month-on-month change
- Overall demand: ▼ ~2%
- Permanent engineering Technical Author roles remain slightly softer.
- LinkedIn has strengthened noticeably, suggesting more employers are advertising directly rather than relying solely on traditional job boards.
