Our client is a company that provides a distributed data platform. They are looking for a contractor to work with its small team of Technical Authors. The team writes its content on GitHub, using AsciiDoc and Antora. The documentation is primarily used by developers.
They are looking for an experienced Technical Author who is comfortable writing documentation for a developer audience and/or about cloud services. Some of the work involves documenting command line prompts, and writing how to set up the software with tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
They have an initial project, which is to migrate some existing content written in MDX to their AsciiDoc/Antora/GitHub environment. They estimate this will take approximately three months. If that is successful, they anticipate there will be additional projects extending the contract for nine more months. The additional projects will be writing rather than migration work.
They would consider someone who wanted to work part time. You would work from home.
You must be:
- An experienced Technical Author with excellent writing skills
- Comfortable writing for a developer audience
- Based in the UK or EU
- Not afraid to ask questions
